VIOLET GLUE MATERIAL

Experimental Material |   2020   |   Unique Garment

For this project, experiments were made on which material could be developed to form an alternative to fabric. The outcome is purple lacquer material made of Planatol PB, acrylic paint and water. The still liquid ingredients were brushed on a wavy plastic surface and dried for several days. The dry material was subtracted from the subsoil, which inevitably created a uniquely cracked surface look. Finally, the scrunched material was applied to a sash, creating a voluminous piece of clothing.

Process

The mixture of Planatol PB (glue), acrylic paint, and water was brushed onto a wavy plastic surface and dried for several days.

The dried material was then removed from the substrate, which inevitably created a uniquely cracked surface look. Finally, the crumpled material was applied to a sash, creating a voluminous piece of clothing.
